How to uninstall and/or reinstall Vlingo on a BlackBerry

Before reinstalling Vlingo, please make sure to uninstall it first if you already have a copy. Below are the standard instructions for how to uninstall and reinstall Vlingo on a BlackBerry:

Deleting Vlingo from your phone:
--------------------------------------

OS 5 devices

  1. Click on the Options icon from your BlackBerry's Programs screen.
  2. Click on Advanced Options.
  3. Click on Applications.
  4. Scroll down to Vlingo.
  5. Click your menu key, then choose Delete.

OS 6 & 7 devices

  1. Click on the Options icon from your BlackBerry's Programs screen.
  2. Click on Device.
  3. Click on Application Management.
  4. Scroll down to Vlingo.
  5. Click your menu key, then choose Delete.

There can be rare cases where using the standard approach to deleting an application on a BlackBerry may not work.  If this happens to you, perform the following:

  1. For OS 5 devices, from the Blackberry home screen, navigate to Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications.  For OS 6 & 7 devices, go to Options -> Device -> Application Management.
  2. Click the Menu Key and then select Modules.
  3. Locate the Vlingo module in the list.   You can do this by scrolling, but it may be easier to type the word "Vlingo" which will automatically initiate a search.
  4. Once Vlingo is highlighted, select Menu then Delete.

In either case, you will have to reboot the phone (pull the battery if the BlackBerry doesn't prompt you to reboot) to finish the process completely.
